CovElec have long realised that the best way to get the strongest talent into the industry is grow their own and with school leavers looking at other avenues than University to get into full time employment the apprenticeship programme has become an excellent way to achieve this.
CovElec has taken it upon themselves to forge close working relationship with the local schools and give them the opportunity to work with a forward thinking company.
Students can initially join CovElec for work experience then if they become an apprentice, they receive a rounded training programme including day release at the local technical college allowing them to obtain a recognised qualification as well as leaning and earning on the job.
There are generally at least three students working their way through an apprenticeship at CovElec and achieving a thorough grounding in all aspects of the trade.
Each apprentice is appointed a highly experienced mentor with on average 20 years experience and knowledge behind them in the industry, therefore ensuring that their skills and experience are passed on and the apprentice gets the best they possibly can out of the opportunity he or she has been given.
Area Sales Manager
The ASM is responsible for generating revenue by creating opportunities, finding new business within an assigned geographical area. The ASM is also responsible for managing existing accounts and implementing and executing strategies to achieve sales targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Developing and sustaining long-term relationships with key customers.
Travelling to potential and existing customers within an assigned sales area to present company offerings and build brand awareness.
Utilising outbound telephone calls, email communications and face-to-face meetings with customers to close sales.
Preparing concise sales reports to feed into Sales Director.
Planning, researching, and executing potential sales opportunities in order to drive profitable market share growth for the business.
Consistently delivers against set goals and targets.
Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Sales Director
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Proven sales experience within engineering industry.
Previous account management experience.
Knowledge of industry and markets
Strong track record in relationship building.
Proactive approach to drive sales forward.
Organised and planned approach to creating sales opportunities
Ability to be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to take ownership and accountability
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Great problem solver and be able to work under pressure, providing solutions.
CovElec currently have a number of vacancies in various locations, all applicants must be presentable, be willing to work flexible hours, be able to communicate effectively in a customer facing environment and have a full, clean driving license.
The successful candidates will bring electro/mechanical knowledge to our Winding Shop, specifically to rewind AC and DC motors, stators, armatures and transformers. General mechanical and electrical fitting skills required.
The successful candidates will be responsible for constructing and assembling mechanical systems. They will have a broad knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps to enable successful completion of inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs as required. Experience of both low voltage and high voltage rewinds and refurbishment, specifically to rewind AC and DC motors, stators, armatures and transformers. Formal apprenticeship to NVQ level or above required. A C&G 17th Edition qualification and experience of working with inverters, drives and control systems would be advantageous.
The successful candidates will have a broad knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps. They will have completed a formal apprenticeship to NVQ level or above and have a proven track record within an engineering environment.
